The management team of Continuum Capital has pioneered the German market in terms of the generation, management, financing and refinancing of the ground lease asset class and been active in this market segment since 2004. Some 30,000 residential units have been sold and refinanced under ground rent terms by the management team in the last few years.
Michael Jung
Managing Partner
Between 2004 and 2008 Michael was initially CFO and subsequently CEO of Vivacon AG, a publicly listed real estate company in Germany. In that position Michael was instrumental to the introduction of commercial ground rent investments in the German real estate market and devised the first three ground rent securitisations in the German market. Between 1996 and 2004 Michael worked in the investment banking divisions of Deutsche Bank and Rothschild, where he held director positions and focused on M&A and equity capital market transactions. Michael graduated as Diplom-Kaufmann (MBA) from the University of Mannheim.
Bernd Janssen
Director
Bernd joined Continuum Capital in September 2009 with the responsibility for the sourcing of ground rent assets. Between 1991 and 2008 Bernd was Managing Director at UBS Deutschland AG, where he was Head of Equity Research. This role included the writing of regular publications on German Equity Strategy and company research, with focus on German real estate stocks. In client surveys Bernd and his team were frequently ranked top 3 for German Equity Research. Prior to UBS Bernd worked at Smith New Court in London (German equity small cap analyst) and Matuschka Capital, Munich (LBO/MBO transactions). Bernd graduated in business administration at University of Göttingen, Germany.
